Our Gender Equality and Inclusion Policy
Since its establishment, the International Association of Women in Sustainable Development (USKD) has adopted working in every field of development goals as a part of its statute and identity. It aims to work to ensure that each of the 17 goals accepted within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are internalized by its members and implemented in their individual lives, and that society becomes aware of this issue and adopts the Sustainable Development Goals as a principle in every area of their lives.
By focusing on gender equality as a priority among the 17 goals, it has adopted principles such as freedoms, equal opportunities, respect for differences and inclusiveness as the basis of its existence and founding purpose.
Aiming to work nationally and internationally for a world where differences are seen as richness, USKD works with all its components and stakeholders to ensure that the projects it carries out comply with universal human rights law.
It continues its work with six commissions to implement national and international projects in order to create a social, community and work environment where individuals, especially women and girls, can develop and use their skills and competencies by revealing their potential without fear of discrimination, prejudice, sexual harassment and assault, and violence in any regard.
USKD's Equality and Inclusion Policy is effectively implemented in the membership recruitment processes and covers its stakeholders, companions, consultants, volunteers and all living things.
Our policy includes combating discrimination in every field.
As women in the business world who care to use their professional and social skills in line with the association's goals, our aim at USKD is to work for a world where all people, regardless of age, religion, language, race, color, gender, or disability, will benefit from equal opportunities, work, socialize, and live together in a way worthy of human dignity.
We have planned our Strategic Plan to always act in a transparent and accountable manner in line with all these values and our corporate culture.
Thus, we believe that we have a responsibility to set an example for other NGOs and institutions.
Our core values on which our Equality and Inclusion Policy is based:
1. Trust: To support the establishment of a social and working life in which all people can feel safe and to develop projects that will raise awareness.
2. Equal Opportunities: To advocate for equal treatment for all individuals in terms of education, employment, equal pay, promotion and other opportunities, and to influence decision-makers in this regard.
3. Diversity and Representation: Encouraging the representation of every individual in every aspect of society, regardless of their religion, ethnic group, gender or disability, and developing policies that consider inclusivity.
4. Education: To work to ensure that girls and boys can use these rights without discrimination starting from the first levels of education, to enlighten the society, and to activate the relevant mechanisms.
5. Gender Equality: Developing policies on gender equality and encouraging women to rise to leadership positions in all areas. Taking various measures to prevent gender-based discrimination.
The International Association of Women in Sustainable Development (USKD) has prepared this policy document, which demonstrates its determination to carry out work focusing on Gender Equality and Inclusion issues, and has also taken action in the field of implementation.
